Phil earned his master’s degree at Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences in 1995 and earned his doctorate at Regis University in 2007. He is affiliated with the Rapid City Rush, Black Hills Rapids Youth Soccer Club, and Rushmore Hockey Association. He has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1995. Phil has been employed at ProMotion Physical Therapy since 1997, taking a year and a half sabbatical to work as a PT in California in 2006. In addition to his expertise in back pain, postoperative conditions and peripheral joint pain, Phil specializes in concussion management, vestibular rehabilitation, and fall prevention.

His outside interests include soccer, all types of bicycling, all outdoor activities, and spending time with his wife and two sons. In 2019, Phil added assistant coach of the Stevens High School boys soccer team to his list of titles. Ever a student of the game, he has coached youth soccer in some capacity for over 10 years. Phil's affable persona and his communication skills make therapy enjoyable for all his patients.
